On May 15-16, 2025 the Belarusian National Technical University hosted the international scientific and technical conference "Water. Gas. Heat. 2025". Within the framework of this conference the chair “English Language” № 2 organized the work of the section “Linguodidactic support of technical education”. The section was attended by teachers, researchers and experts in the field of language training from Belarus, Russia and Turkmenistan.
The participants discussed modern methods of teaching foreign languages in technical universities, digital tools in education, as well as issues of intercultural communication in the professional sphere. Presentations and discussions emphasized the importance of integrating language and technical training to prepare highly qualified specialists in the context of globalization.
The conference became a platform for sharing experience and strengthening international cooperation in education.

On April 23, 2025, as part of the international scientific and technical forum "Creativity and Innovation'2025", the English Language Department No. 2 hosted a competition for presentations of students' research papers "My First Steps into Science".
The event brought together participants who presented their first scientific projects in English, demonstrating not only research skills, but also a high level of proficiency in a foreign language.
The topics of the presentations covered a wide range of areas, from modern technologies and construction to solving global environmental problems. The jury evaluated the logic of the presentation, the scientific value of the works, creativity and the quality of the presentations.
The "My First Steps into Science" competition is a great opportunity for students to express their ideas, gain valuable public speaking experience, and improve their spoken English skills.
On October 18, 2024, teachers of the English Language Department No. 2 of the BNTU Faculty of Energy Construction took part in the international scientific and technical conference "Innovative Technologies in Water, Utilities and Water Transport". The reports were presented in the field of "Linguodidactic provision of technical education".
