The average number of students enrolled in one course is 75 people in the full-time department and 50 people in the correspondence course.
The term of study in full-time education is 4 years, in part-time reduced form of education (for those who graduated from college in the specialties 1-37 01 06 "Technical operation of vehicles" and 1-37 01 07 "Auto service") - 4 years.
With good results in the entrance exams, applicants are enrolled in a budget form of education. There is also the possibility of paid training.
After receiving higher education, it is possible to further study in the magistracy with the assignment of the academic degree of master of technical sciences, postgraduate and doctoral studies in the specialty "Transport".
Training of specialists at the department is carried out according to the educational standards of higher education of the Republic of Belarus OSVO 1-37 01 06‑2013 No. 88 of 08/30/2013 and OSVO 1-37 01 07‑2013 No. 88 of 08/30/2013.
The department provides the implementation of educational programs in the specialties 1-37 01 06 "Technical operation of vehicles", 1-37 01 07 "Auto service" in full-time and part-time education and masters in the specialty 1 - 37 80 01 "Transport".
In addition, lecturers of the department give lectures on special disciplines for students of the specialties "Automotive", " Organization of transportation and management in road and urban transport", "Organization of traffic", " Economics and organization of production (road transport))", "Transport logistics ”, “ Estimated activities in road transport”, “ Technical operation of vehicles (military vehicles)”.
Students study cycles of humanitarian, general technical and special subjects. In the process of studying in special subjects, students gain knowledge in the main areas of development of operational materials for road transport, modern designs of cars and trucks, modern methods of maintenance, diagnosis and repair of cars, recovery technologies used in car repairs. Particular attention is paid to the study of electronic vehicle control systems, their diagnosis and troubleshooting.
"Fundamentals of Intellectual Property", "Automotive Technologies". To improve the quality of training in the main disciplines, educational and methodological complexes have been developed.
The educational base of the department has modern laboratories with equipment for studying the design, repair, diagnosis and maintenance of vehicles. Operating models of electronic control systems were put into operation, as well as electronic equipment for checking the steering controls of vehicles, a stand for checking and repairing injectors of electronic injection of gasoline engines, and a stand for transport telematics. At the expense of sponsorship, aggregates and components of modern passenger cars were purchased. In connection with new trends in the development of technical operation, the laboratories of the department are equipped with units and parts of modern passenger cars of the most famous manufacturers Audi, BMW, Ford, Mazda, Mercedes, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Volkswagen,
Graduates of our specialties receive the qualification "mechanical engineer" .
Students who have shown an inclination for scientific work study at the magistracy, and then in graduate school or are sent to research institutes and experimental design organizations.
Students participate in various competitions and competitions, where they show remarkable results.
In 2014, a student of the specialty 1-37 01 06 "Technical operation of vehicles" took 1st place in the international competition of professional skills "Worldskills international" in the direction of "Automotive technologies".
