The Department of Vehicle Maintenance
The Department of Vehicle Maintenance was established in May 1946 at the Mechanical Faculty of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. At the time of its creation, the department was named "Automobile Repair and Operation." The first head of the department was Associate Professor Alexander Stepanovich Samko, a candidate of technical sciences. In 1951, the first cohort graduated, consisting of 29 engineers specializing in "Repair and Operation of Automobiles, Tractors, and Agricultural Machinery," followed by 24 graduates in 1952 specializing in "Automobile Transport." The initial faculty members included D.I. Gorin, L.I. Bobchenok, V.S. Apanasenko, A.S. Savich, and E.I. Petukhov. They established the educational, methodological, material, technical, and scientific base necessary for organizing the educational process and training specialists for automotive enterprises throughout the Soviet Union.
The department employs one professor with a doctoral degree in technical sciences, six associate professors with PhDs in technical sciences, and four senior lecturers.

The department maintains close relationships with automotive transport and service enterprises, where various types of industrial internships are conducted.
