On December 10th BNTU will be celebrating a 100th anniversary. The upcoming prominent date is a serious reason for pondering over achievements and building plans for the future. Therefore on June 12th there was organised a meeting with the most outstanding graduates of our university. 39 people participated, everybody of diverse positions and sectors of economy. Most of them still support the university and render it comprehensive help.

At the meeting there occurred the significant event: the Public Council on the 100th anniversary celebrations was established (later will be referred to as the Council) - it's a graduates' community, strengthening their connection with the university and contributing to the building of the positive BNTU's image both inside and outside of Belarus.

The rector of BNTU Sergey Haritonchik began the meeting with the welcome words: "I am very happy for we have gathered together on university's 100th anniversary eve".

The 1st Vice-Rector George Vershina expressed big gratitude to gratitudes on behalf of the university staff for all assistance and support.

During the meeting Nikolay Ladutsko, BNTU's graduate, the current director of the MotoVeloFactory, ex-chairman of Minsk Executive Committee was chosen as the Chairman of the Council. He has got colossal experience in the organisation of large-scale events. A lot of people must remember his personal contribution to the preparations for the Hockey World Championship. Anna Yablonskaya, the Deputy Manager of the International Department of BNTU was assigned as the Council Secretary.

During the meeting the results and achievements of the past decade were summarized, the most important from them were the major overhaul of dormitories and learning campuses of the university, the construction of a new dormitory at the students' village, large-scale reconstruction of material technical base of the experimental factory "Politechnik". Besides this Sergey Haritonchik presented the Concept of the 100th anniversary celebrations.

The participants defined the next directions of joint work and discussed the questions of solemn events preparation, the countdown of them will start on the 1st of September. It's planned that the most spectacular of them will become "The race of anniversary Flame" and "Time capsule establishment". The concept of "The race Flame" supposes the manufacturing of BNTU's symbol in the form of a torch and its transfer to the most remote corners of the world: enterprises, where our graduates work. It's being planned to collect small parts from each enterprise and convert them into a memorial sign, which will be installed on the territory of BNTU. The rooting of the Time Capsule will take place on the 10th of December 2020. Everybody willing to participate will be able to place their message inside the Capsule, and it will be disclosed and read in 50 years.

Special attention was paid to the possibility of the opening of nominative labs for the needs of business and the real sector of economy as well as to the issue of the trustee fund creation. Every participant presented their suggestions regarding the Council's activity and anniversary celebrations. Everybody was proactive and asked a lot of constructive questions.

It's being pondered over separate groups creation from the Council's members. Each group will be responsible for a definite kind of activity. In case of necessity the work will be executed in the online-format. It's supposed that interactions between the Council and university will continue on a permanent basis even after the end of festive events in December 2020.
