Main scientific directions:
The most important scientific achievements of the department are related to the theoretical development and creation of experimental samples of optoelectronic systems, to the study of the optical properties of dispersed media, semiconductor materials and devices, as well as to applied work aimed at creating and implementing original methods and equipment for quality control of materials and ensuring optimal operating conditions for instruments and vehicle navigation.
Prototypes of devices developed at the department were presented at various international and republican exhibitions.
Currently, the following developments are proposed for implementation:
The most important direction in the development and improvement of engineering education is the involvement of students throughout their studies in active creative activity, which contributes to the transformation of the engineering education system into the sphere of mastering the methods of cognitive and engineering activities. The organization of creative activity of junior students is a part of the educational and methodological work carried out at the Department of Experimental and Theoretical Physics, BNTU. The main forms of this work are to introduce students to new topics in physics that go beyond the scope of the university course, to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in them, and to adapt their research to future engineering specialties.
In the organization of the creative work of students at the department, two mutually complementary levels can be distinguished: teaching and research work and research work of students.
Every year, the results of the research work performed at the department are presented at scientific student conferences of various levels held in the republic and abroad.
For the period 2002-2020 more than 700 reports were made, more than 4000 scientific reports of students were published in the materials of scientific conferences:
The results of NIRS are introduced into the educational process in the discipline "General Physics" for full-time students of the instrument-making faculty:
