Faculty of Civil Engineering

Today, the Faculty of Civil Engineering at BNTU is recognized as a leader in training highly qualified specialists for Belarus' construction sector. There is no organization or construction-related enterprise in the country where its graduates do not work. Over the years, more than 38,000 engineers, technologists, and economists have graduated from the faculty. Many of them hold leadership positions in ministries, major enterprises, institutions, and firms, and are leading scientists in the construction industry. Thanks to the dedicated work of the faculty's teachers and researchers, the Faculty of Civil Engineering has consistently remained at the forefront of advancing higher engineering and construction education in the Republic of Belarus. The faculty has contributed significantly to the advancements in construction science and the development of the country's construction sector, achievements that we rightfully take pride in.

The faculty provides accelerated training programs for specialists in the following specialties: Industrial and Civil Construction, Economics and Production Organization (in correspondence form), and Construction of Buildings and Structures.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering also offers postgraduate education, including the preparation of technical science masters and specialists of the highest qualification - candidates and doctors of technical sciences.

Currently, the faculty has 1200 students in the full-time department and 1000 in the correspondence department. The total number of faculty members is 120, including 10 doctors and 60 candidates of sciences. The faculty has 55 scientific researchers working in scientific research laboratories, among whom are 6 candidates of sciences.

The faculty's training of specialists is conducted through three graduating departments:

- Building structures named after Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor T.M. Petzold;
- Building Materials and Construction Technology;
- Economics, Construction Organization, and Real Estate Management,

and two general technical departments:

- Geotechnics and Structural Mechanics;
- Engineering Graphics in Construction.

The faculty's structure also includes three research units: two research laboratories and the Center for Scientific Research and Testing of Construction Structures, as well as a system of branch graduate departments in organizations.

As a large and prestigious university faculty, the Faculty of Civil Engineering maintains established traditions in training highly qualified specialists for the construction and other sectors of the national economy. The educational process is constantly improving based on innovative teaching methods and modern information technologies, including BIM technologies. During their studies at the faculty, students receive in-depth theoretical and practical training in all disciplines, acquire necessary knowledge in the calculation and design, technical operation, and reconstruction of buildings and engineering structures, technology, organization, and economics of construction, and undergo introductory, educational-technological, and industrial internships. Students have the opportunity to engage in scientific work in laboratories equipped with modern equipment and personal computers. For the professional training of specialists at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, 7 computer classes are used, which are connected to an information network based on switches and Wi-Fi routers. Students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering are actively engaged in research work, participate in various olympiads and competitions, including international ones. The Faculty of Civil Engineering at BNTU actively develops international cooperation and participates in the work of international educational organizations, including the Association of European Civil Engineering Faculties (AECEF) and the International Association of Construction Universities of Russia and CIS countries (AIS). An important aspect of the faculty's activities is international cooperation with the Polytechnics of Bialystok and Lublin (Republic of Poland), firms and universities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Austria, where our teachers and students undergo internships and practical training. Students from many countries around the world are studying at the faculty. Graduates of the Faculty of Civil Engineering are in high demand in the labor market, as evidenced by the employment results of young specialists.
