Petr Vasilyevich Zeleny, Associate Professor, has been working at the Department of Engineering Graphics for Mechanical Engineering since 1987. Prior to joining the department, he was engaged in research work; he defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation in the field of tractor manufacturing in 1983, received the academic rank of Senior Researcher in 1984, and served as a sector head in a research laboratory from 1985 to 1987. From 1993 to 1996, while continuing to work concurrently as an associate professor at the department, P.V. Zeleny held the position of Deputy Chairman of the State Patent Committee of the Republic of Belarus; in 1994, he was awarded the rank of Class 4 Civil Servant of the Republic of Belarus. From November 1, 2000, to February 2014, P.V. Zeleny headed the Department of Engineering Graphics for Mechanical Engineering. For many years, he was a member of the Council of the Automotive and Tractor Faculty (ATF)—first as Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and later as Head of the Department—and was a member of the international Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Area of expertise: Compatibility of wheeled running gear systems of machine-tractor units with agricultural production conditions. In 2008, P.V. Zeleny was awarded the academic rank of Associate Professor in the field of mechanical engineering. He was awarded a prize from the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for his significant contribution to developing the abilities of gifted pupils and students (based on the results of the 2008/2009 academic year); he received a Certificate of Honor from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Byelorussian SSR for achievements in specialist training and the development of science and technology (1980); and he holds the "Inventor of the USSR" badge for implemented inventions (1988). He has repeatedly received university certificates of merit; he was recognized with a university certificate as a winner of the 2007 scientific competition for inventors (featured in the *Vesti BNTU* newspaper, No. 1, dated February 14, 2008); he has also previously received numerous certificates of merit—including honorary ones—and monetary awards from BPI and BNTU for his work in invention, research, and personnel training. In total, P.V. Zeleny has published 543 scientific works, including: 19 study guides approved by the Ministry of Education; 14 teaching aids approved by the Educational-Methodological Association (UMO); 58 articles; 223 inventions; and various other items such as deposited research reports, published abstracts, and conference papers. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation (research focus: Compatibility of wheeled running gear on tractor-implement units with agricultural production conditions). He has introduced the following into the educational process: 6 test benches to encourage independent student study, 4 new sets of educational models, and 5 sets of handouts for practical classes. In 2013, he implemented a comprehensive teaching and methodological package for majors studying the discipline in full depth and developed a standard curriculum for Engineering Graphics applicable to over 70 university majors across the republic (approved in 2011). In 2013, he established a Master’s degree program (second-level higher education) at the department: 1-36 80 80 "Engineering Geometry and Computer Graphics."
