Presentation event "PolyQuest"
To facilitate the successful adaptation of first-year students, promote the traditions and achievements of BNTU, popularize the activities of the student council, and engage first-year students in active community service at the university, the "PolyQuest" presentation event was organized. Seventeen BNTU faculties, as well as the BNTU Lyceum, are participating in the event.
Forum "Student Intensive"
Since October 2024, at the initiative of the BNTU Student Council, a forum for young university students, "Student Intensive," has been held to develop personal, leadership, and organizational skills. The forum, which runs for two days, is hosted by the university and the BNTU Polytechnic health resort. A comprehensive program is being organized for young leaders, including both educational and cultural components. The forum also includes intensive courses focused on strengthening team spirit, developing communication skills, and fostering leadership qualities.
The "Youth on the Main Thing" Project
This initiative involves open and equal dialogue between students and BNTU youth leaders to directly exchange opinions on pressing social issues. It aims to engage students in discussions of current issues and problems related to youth policy, education, science, and social life. The project's main goal is to create a platform for the exchange of opinions, initiatives, and ideas among students.
Polytechnic University Team Cup
To develop student law enforcement, promote student self-government, develop teambuilding skills and abilities, develop a promising talent pool for BNTU volunteer squads, and develop leadership and organizational skills, the traditional "Polytechnic Squad Cup" is held. Each volunteer squad from the dormitories and buildings participates in two stages of the competition: athletic and intellectual.
BNTU student shift
To develop leadership, organizational skills, and teamwork skills, as well as teach effective management skills in preparing student projects, and to build a promising talent pool for BNTU youth organizations, the youth forum "BNTU Student Shift" is being held for first-year students. The forum is organized by the BNTU Student Council in partnership with the BNTU Student Trade Union and the BRSM Youth Union, under the authority of the BNTU Regional Council, under the guidance of the Center for Innovative Research and Development. Over the course of the week, participants learn about the activities of the university's youth organizations, participate in excursions, dialogue platforms, business games, interactive sessions, and master classes with invited speakers. The forum concludes with each team presenting a youth initiative and its implementation concept.
The best study group of BNTU
Since 2015, the BNTU Student Council has held the university-wide competition "Best BNTU Study Group." The aim of the competition is to enhance the academic, scientific, and social engagement of BNTU students, develop the creative potential and team spirit of BNTU study groups, and encourage the work of student study group mentors. The competition is held in February-March and includes four rounds: video presentations and study group presentations, intellectual rounds, athletic rounds, and creative rounds.
BNTU students – for children
The BNTU Student Council is preparing a grand celebration for the boarding school residents, featuring a congratulatory program, songs, dances, games, round dances, and an interactive disco. The residents receive gifts including a variety of developmental and creative kits, personal hygiene products, marshmallows, candies, and delicious pies from the students and staff of the Belarusian National Technical University. The event brings positive emotions, open hugs, and smiles to the residents, who are rewarded with kind words, children's cheers, and music.
BNTU students – to veterans
For more than 20 years, the student council of BNTU together with employees of the center of ideological work and youth affairs hold a charity event "Students of BNTU - veterans". Students visit boarding houses where live veterans, participants and witnesses of the Great Patriotic War, labor veterans who need care due to old age. According to tradition, students prepare a rich concert program: perform musical, instrumental and poetic compositions.
Photo competition "A moment of my life
In order for moments of small but bright university life to remain in our memory a little longer, the Belarusian national technical university annually holds the photo competition "A moment of my life".
The competition brings together people who are able to observe what seems ordinary to others, see the beauty of familiar things and convey through photography the uniqueness of the surrounding world. In 2025, more than 60 students of BNTU, high school students and representatives of the teaching staff participated in the competition. In total, 328 photos were submitted in six nominations: "Landscape", "Portrait", "Perspective", "Series", "Urban environment and architecture" and "The world that gave", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
The best photographic works annually become a real adornment of the university and delight visitors on the third floor of the main educational building.
Exhibition on the genocide of the Belarusian people in the years of the Great Patriotic War
On July 9, 2025, an exhibition dedicated to the genocide of the Belarusian people in the years of the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period was opened at the Belarusian National Technical University. Its goal is to convey all the weight of loss and the importance of preserving historical memory. The initiative for organizing the exhibition was taken by the student council of BTU with the support of the center of ideological work and youth affairs and the university rectorate.
The exhibition stands present archival photos, eyewitness testimonies and documents that tell about the tragedy of our people. Each of these testimonies is the voice of those who could not be heard.
