As part of the optional course "In the World of Engineering and Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession" Andrey Kologrivko, Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering, and Valentina Kuzmich, Senior Lecturer of the Mining Department, delivered lectures to engineering classes at Gymnasium No. 1 and Secondary School No. 1 in Soligorsk on the topic of "Man-Made Objects of the Soligorsk Mining District" They explained concepts such as man-made areas, technogenesis, and undermining objects in layman's terms.

While studying geography, mathematics, and chemistry, engineering students broadened their knowledge of geology and environmentally friendly subsoil use.
Everyday objects visible to the schoolchildren – salt dumps, sludge storage facilities, and the above-ground structures of processing plants – were presented as complex engineering structures, the construction and safe operation of which is only possible after receiving a higher education in mining engineering and studying mine surveying, geomechanics, hydrogeology, and drilling and blasting.
The students showed considerable interest in the lecture, as many of them are members of mining families.
The lecture provided orientation and enabled the students to make an informed choice about their future profession.
